Eric Carle

The illustrations of Eric Carle are something that instantly reminds me of reading as a child - to this day, I still have a copy of The Very Hungy Caterpillar, its a classic!

His illustrations are very playful and I feel children are drawn to them because they are so childlike and look a little like work they produce i.e. collages with tissue paper.

I believe the work of Carle is timeless but it is such a unique style that any attempt to produce work in a similar method would simply look like you were copying off him.

Although they don't really look alike, the crafting somewhat reminds me Lauren Childs work (Charlie and Lola) because of its childlike quality.
